Hello Fellow Stitchers!
Yikes it has been ages since I last posted. This Fall has not been the most pleasant…and certainly not the way I expected it to be. My Dad, who was 93 and in great health, began to decline in early September and then passed away on October 2nd. I did not work, I did not stitch, I did not eat…I did nothing but run to the hospital. And, so many of you have been through this time of “ordeal” (my Dad’s word), you know the physical, mental and emotional tiredness that consumes you. I did not pick up a needle for such a long time.
While this was going on, our son also return from Korea (YAY!!) and we moved him back out to Pittsburgh.
So, it has been crazy/busy. But I recently started stitching again, and let me introduce Lionel…the 3rd character in “The Parrot, the Leopard and the Lion.” Isn’t he gorgeous?
My word, that is a lot of filling…but also the perfect thing to stitch when you can’t really concentrate. Lionel joins Petunia (the parrot) and Lenora (the leopard). There is still one character to go…but not my most favorite of animals for sure…he/she may be the last thing to be stitched on this piece.
Here is an overall shot of where things stand (sorry for the ripple in the upper left…it was early, early this a.m. when I took the photo.
I hope to fill in some more this weekend, though we are still busy sorting through my Dad’s papers, belongings, etc. My husband and I hope to get out tomorrow for a long, long hike. Just for something different.
And work! So busy, busy, busy. Happy to say that I leave for Marco Island, FL on 11/11 for a meeting that week…and yes, a massage (greatly needed) has already been booked for Wednesday afternoon that week.
Here’s hoping I’ll be back with an update a little sooner next time. I still have lots of blog reading to catch up on. I’ve read some, but have not commented. I’ll get back to that eventually.
