Ooooo I can't wait to start this new project today! I had this H.K. Smith chart in my stash and couldn't decide whether to start it first or my Mary Baker for Nicola's year of SL stitching. Well we all know which one won out....the Mary Baker chart did. I would have had this one stitched up sooner had I not been so busy with other smaller projects and medium projects.
I pulled all the DMC for this chart and really liked it but I had no 36ct fabric on hand to start it about a week ago. So when I went to my LNS recently, I took my chart with the DMC threads and found some really nice 36ct Cream Edinborough fabric. After looking at it, I asked my friend Janet to help me pull the Au Ver A Soie silks .......JUST TO SEE if I liked them better on the cream fabric than the DMC. Well you know where this is going...right??? I LOVED THEM!!! It was a no brainer for Janet and I to see that we loved the colors soooo much better than the DMC. Don't get me wrong, I like xstitching with DMC but the colors of the silks were so beautiful, and they just called out to me to stitch this project in them. Plus another factor was that my shop was running a discount on the silks so that helped make my decision as well. =)
Alright....enough talking about this project and supplies for now. Here is a picture I took the other day when it was light enough.
I hope to put some serious stitching in on this project today and the next few days so look for some updates from me.
Happy Stitching everyone!!!
