A Finish!!

Good Morning From Snowy Pennsylvania!

Yes, another snow day yesterday gave me the time to finish N. Hinde!  Woo-Hoo!  Here is where I was as of Wednesday night:

And last night I put the final stitch in:

This looks a little blurry and a little wavy…but it’s not really.  For some reason I’m having a difficult time photographing this one.  It is tiny:  only 2.25” wide by 1.5” tall.  Stitched on 40 count linen over one using one strand of Licorice Red by Crescent Colours.  I think I will find some backing fabric and make a pin pillow with this.  Love it!!  I will try to get a better shot of it later today.

The day was not spent completely with needle in hand…I managed to bake bread, make curried shrimp chowder for dinner, do 3 loads of laundry and have a delightful nap in the afternoon!!

I was hoping for a 4 day weekend, but my office is open today…but not until 11.  I will probably spend more time in traffic getting there and home again than I will in the office!  We had a little more snow and some ice last night…more expected tomorrow.  Here’s the view out my back door this a.m.:

The little “lump” in front is a gourd from our garden this past summer!  It has survived all this time thanks to the cold, cold winter we have had.  My husband used the snow blower to plow a path to the garden and our composter (which has been frozen solid for weeks), and another path out to one of our bird feeders.  Tyg has been enjoying stalking the birds in the snow…fortunately the birds all seem pretty savvy.

Happy Valentine’s Day to everyone!  This weekend I plan to pick Elizabeth Mitchell back up…it won’t be done for this year’s challenge, but soon.

Stay warm and safe!!
